Improvements with Melanie

Pretty much has entirely skipped baby food. She likes bread, string cheese, green beans, potatoes, egg yolk mixed with greek vanilla yogurt, pinto beans, peas, and carrots. Those are some of her staples that she always has. Doesn't like being fed with the spoon, so we use our fingers, so they have to be small pieces of food. She is a finger fed kid, and she won't grab the food with her hands yet, so we feed her.
One of the goals for the Up to 3 program was to get her to hold her bottle by herself, well she kind of did that on her own. It was kind of funny, she was overdue for a feeding, so I filled her bottle and held it in front of her, she instantly reached both hand out and grabbed the bottle and brought it to her mouth, and held it there till she was done. And she still does this, although when she is really tired or just distracted then we hold onto it. This is just exciting.
Here she is doing some exercises, she is getting stronger, and she just seems to be super happy lately and she is now really starting to go after toys and play. And she is also starting to make noises, not just her squealing noises, she will grunt and we will grunt back, so fun!
-Darn, she now will reach up and take headbands off, not that I put them on to frequently, but when I do she will realize there is something on HER head and she will reach up and grab it and pull it off, making it fall down to cover her eyes or go down around her neck. She also is starting to do this with hats as well.
-She is a quiet girl for the most part, but definitely getting more vocal, and more wiggly also, doesn't like to just sit in our laps anymore, she starts to squirm and roll her body over while holding her. It is so fun to watch her grow and see her improvements.

Hey! Gosh I can't believe how fast your kids are growing up. It has been way too long since I caught up on your blog. To answer your question about the shelf and cubbies... They are all from ikea. Gotta love ikea!
