Blessing Booties for little Allie

My sister in law is blessing her little girl this Sunday, and she found these adorable little shoes on Etsy. She asked if I would make them for her, they were really quite easy, I used 100% cotton sportwieght yarn(if anyone cares), and they turned out super cute.

Yummy EZ White Bread!!

I tried out another bread recipe yesterday and and a double batch today, and I am never buying store bought white bread again. Rob loves white bread, and it has to be soft, so I am way excited about this recipe. This recipe is super easy and turns out so soft and yummy!! I got it from everydayfoodstorage.net, I love this website, so many amazing recipes using powdered milk, potato flakes, beans, and many other food storage items. The recipe I made is called EZ White Bread, and it is just that, EASY!! You have got to try it out.
It makes one loaf, I used a regular size loaf pan and I think I could have used the bigger size because it sure rose above the pan quite a bit. But, wow, so nice and soft and so much better than store bought bread.

I made her EZ Wheat Bread, and had a rough time with it, so I will post about that when I get it the way I want it. I have made it twice and it looked DONE but the middle was still a little doughy.

A Fun Ear Flap Hat!!!

I found this hat and some more fun hat patterns, I am so excited to try out and share with all of you. I got this pattern from Totzpatternz along with some others and I just finished this one. I am going to try some other color combinations, but I am so pleased with how it turned out. Super cute!
I will probably end up selling these at some point, but for now I am just having fun enjoying my new found love of crocheting!

A New Hat Pattern

I found another cute hat pattern, it came together really fast. It took about an hour and a half to crochet one of these. I made some for my nieces and nephews and had my sister in law Heater take some pictures. Here is my new niece Allie modeling hers(6-12 month hat), does not quite fit her yet, but still so cute.

Then there is cute little Jackson wearing his sideways.

And my oldest nephew Brian, I am so excited they liked the hats. I had to undo some rows several times to get them the right length, but they turned out so cute.

We had such a fun day on Saturday visiting these guys. They moved away from us so we headed down through pouring rain to get there. So worth it to see these little faces.
Thanks again for letting us come!!

Yoga Sandals

A while ago I ordered a pair of yoga sandals. I was so excited to try them out. They are supposed to help with balance and better body alignment. They have separators that go in between each toe. My toes are close together and my middle toe likes to hid under the toe by my big toe. So these sandals are also supposed to be able to re-align your toes, so we will see if these work. They even have toe socks you can buy so you can wear them in the winter. Ha Ha!!
It is hard at first to get used to wearing something inbetween each toe, but they are feeling better now. Here is a picture of what they look like, just please don't zoom in on my foot. They are kind of dry. Anyways, we will see how they work!

Crochet Fun!!

Rob has been telling me for a while that I need to get a hobby. And I have known this, so I have started crocheting. I love it! It all started after going to my niece's blessing, my husband's Aunt crocheted the blessing dress for her and I loved the dress, so I asked her for the pattern. I told my mom about it, which sparked her determination to find the pattern of a dress she made when I was a baby(she has been looking for this pattern for years), she was inspired to look somewhere where she thought she had already searched, but decided to search more thoroughly. And, she found it. So, she started crocheting that pattern and I asked her if she could teach me how to crochet. It took a little while and some failed attempts, but I think I have the hang of it, at least the basic steps.
Then, searching the wonderful world of Etsy, I found some fun crochet patterns of shoes and hats and dresses and have spent the last month crocheting. For the last two days, I have had Spring Break from my job and guess what I did most of the days, crocheted. I made a cute new hat that I found the pattern from hollanddesigns.etsy.com. I also made some little newborn shoes from Sylverdesigns.com.
Here is the mess that gets left out from all my crocheting. Why put it away when I am just going to use it a little later.

The other day I had a sinus cold or allergies(I never can tell), and we had just driven to Salt Lake and back and I was dead tired. But, instead of going to bed early I was so excited to get home so I could finish what I was crocheting, that I stayed up and crocheted instead of getting the rest my body was telling me I needed.
This hat and shoes I made for me sister-in-law that just had a new baby on Thursday, she is so adorable. I just hope the hat fits. (Heather, if it does not fit just let me know and I can make another.

This next one I made for my niece who is 5 months old. And I tried it on yesterday and it fits. I am so excited that it fits. It was super cute.
Arrrgh!! For some reason my computer is not letting me rotate this, so just tilt your head.

Stay tuned!! I might just have to make something and give it away, since I don't have kids yet! Darn it! Or I will have a giveaway and you can choose what you want and the colors!! We shall see.

Robs New Titanium Ring

This is Robs new wedding ring, he still has his original wedding band, his fingers have shrunk a little from everything and so he has not been wearing a wedding band at all. I did not like that, so I found a couple of rings on ebay and had Rob choose the one he liked the best. This is the one, it is Titanium and not a whole lot smaller than his other but it is much lighter so it won't fly off his finger when he swings his arms around, like his other ring would.
Pretty snazzy, and it was cheap!

Chocolate Milk Shake

Every morning after I get home at 9:00a.m. from work, I make myself a Milk Chocolate Shake. My mom told me about the Morning Moo Chocolate Drink Mix, and after I tried some I loved it and she gave us some for Christmas this year. So now I am all stocked up. So good and so easy. Just two ingredients, water and the Chocolate Drink Mix, oh and ice (but that is water).

If I am making just one serving, then I will first get the tap water Hot, and add 1/2 cup hot water to blender, then I will add 1 1/2 scoops (I use the scoop that comes in the smallest Gatorade container) of Morning Moo Chocolate Drink Mix.

Blend until dissolved.
Once that is dissolved, I add 6 ice cubes. Then you will just blend it until it smooth until there are no more big chunks of ice.

Pour into a glass and enjoy!
