Colds

Julie got a cold on Wednesday morning, she went to bed just fine and woke up with a runny nose. Ugh, hate runny noses! The runny nose lasted one day. It was hard to keep Melanie from getting it, especially when Melanie loves to suck on her hands and Julie likes to pull them out of her mouth. There was just no stopping Melanie from getting it. And poor Melanie, her first cold and she was miserable, constant runny nose, and the first day only drank 12 oz. of milk, she went two night without drinking and when we tried to get her to drink some milk, she would just gag on it like she did when she was younger. The first night was ruff, I think I only got 3 hours of sleep, she wanted to sleep she just couldn't. The next night I was thinking it was going to be the same, but we did call the doctor and since she is not 6 months old yet, they don't like to give them anything, but said that since she was close we could give her a tiny amount of childrens sudafed. I HATE giving my kids medicine, but we got the medicine and she is doing a lot better. She still wasn't eating, she went two night without drinking anything. The second night, she did really well and went from 10pm to 10am without any milk, and slept that whole time, not consecutively, but with a little rocking she was back to sleep. She was so tired. And today she is back to eating like normal, and looks to be feeling so much better. So sad when you little ones are sick.
